Does It Matter?

You gotta love this:

"I can't say I'm overwhelmed with surprise," Lessing said. "I'm 88 years old and they can't give the Nobel to someone who's dead, so I think they were probably thinking they'd probably better give it to me now before I've popped off."

[+] Dorris Lessing won the 2007 Nobel Prize for Literature...which now seems....worthless because a prize is no match for service to humanity (the very idea of the Nobel Prize).

I guess only the hungry
really appreciate £300,000

I think the problem is that we just keep heaping prizes on the same become - that's what makes them famous and known ...

but when you already have a shelf full of prizes and you are in no need of money (not even £300,000 ?)
then there is no JOY in winning.

It sort of kills the anticipation and excitement. You know when you say to someone been there, done it wore the T-shirt

just think for a moment what there was a first time, and try and remember the first time.

Funny I guess SEX & EATING
are the only two things we do not lose interest in, even if and when we've been there, done it and worn the T-shirt many times, sometimes daily, sometimes thrice a day.
